Students have the opportunity to gain insight into the world of consulting at Horváth through an internship or a role as a working student. This is a chance to experience our approach to consulting or contribute to one of our Corporate Functions. We also welcome applications for thesis projects.

In Germany, we offer internships continuously, with no standardized entry dates. In Switzerland, internships typically start in January and July, each lasting six months. In Austria, internships usually begin at the start of each quarter. Information about the intended starting date is provided in each of our job advertisements.

Generally, we offer internships at all our locations in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland. However, depending on the consulting area or Corporate Function you are interested in, the selection of available locations may vary. For an internship at one of our German locations, a duration of at least two to three months is required. In Switzerland, the ideal internship length is six months, while in Austria it is three months.

Unlike a working student position, enrollment is not required for an internship. For example, you can complete an internship with us between your bachelor’s and master’s studies or after graduation to gain further orientation.

You can write a thesis in consultation with your mentor after completing an internship with us, provided you demonstrate appropriate performance. If required, we also advertise thesis opportunities via our careers site, so it’s a good idea to keep an eye on our vacancies. We are also open to unsolicited applications at any time.

You can submit your application anytime via our online application tool. Simply click the "Apply now" button, which you will find at the end of each job posting. Please note that only complete applications, including a cover letter, resume, and references, can be processed. You can upload all your documents in the "Resume" field on the application screen. In order to conduct a thorough review, we kindly ask you to submit the following documents:

• Relevant references (e.g., university and high school diplomas, as well as job references)

You are welcome to submit your application in either German or English.

We recommend submitting your application three to six months before your desired start date.

If you are interested in more than one job offer, a single online application is sufficient. We automatically match each incoming application with job requirements in other areas. Additionally, we have a general job posting for "Praktikum als Fellow Consultant (w/m/d)," where you can indicate your preferences regarding our functional and industry competence centers during the application process.

If your application for an internship or working student position has sparked our interest and your profile matches our current vacancies, we will invite you to a virtual interview. During this interview, we would like to get to know you better and learn more about your previous professional experience. Of course, we will also provide insights into what you can expect at Horváth!

Our motto is: "Come as your client is." Therefore, we recommend a business look for the interview. You don’t need to wear a tie, as we've already relaxed the dress code in our offices. In the office, we adopt a business-casual style, while in projects, the dress code of our clients applies.
