The transition to SAP S/4HANA is changing the IT infrastructure of many companies in the mid term - but also creates opportunities for the digitization of the finance function. The changes affect not only the ERP, but also business intelligence applications (Corporate Performance Management), i.e. in particular planning and forecasting, reporting and analytics, and consolidation. A purely technical "migration" to SAP S/4HANA is not enough. With the implementation of new tools and interfaces, a holistic realignment of management instruments, roles and processes should take place.
