Customer demand for more tailored services and products, coupled with a personalized customer journey, is closing the distance between companies and their customers. This ongoing trend fueled by ease of information access has also provided companies with a unique opportunity in certain industries to capitalize on an individual’s desire for exclusivity. However, moving from a world of mass production and few, substitutable materials and components to single unit manufacturing and large article variety brings both challenges and opportunities for today’s supply chains.
